National Education Plan

En vue d’arriver à la scolarisation gratuite pour tous les enfants d’Haïti, le nouveau Président de la République d’Haïti a récemment lancé le plan National d’Education qui sera en grande partie financé par les fonds qui découleront de la nouvelle taxe de 5 centimes sur tous les appels internationaux vers Haïti.

Avec plus de 87% des écoles détruites ou endommagées par le séisme, plus de 500.000 enfants n’ont pas aujourd’hui la possibilité d’aller à l’école. Les fonds recueillis qui seront gérés par un comité composé de représentants de la Banque Centrale d’Haïti, des opérateurs de téléphonie mobile et du régulateur, permettront d’inverser cette tendance.

Digicel étant le plus grand réseau d’Haïti supporte le gouvernement haïtien dans cette initiative qui contribuera largement à un meilleur futur pour le pays. In order to achieve free education for all children of Haiti, the new President of the Republic of Haiti has recently launched the National Education Plan that will be largely financed by funds flowing from adding a new tax of 5 cents on all incoming international calls to Haiti.

With having more than 87% of schools destroyed or damaged by the earthquake, more than 500,000 children do not have the opportunity to go to school. Funds raised will be managed by a committee composed of representatives of the Central Bank of Haiti, mobile operators and the regulator the CONATEL, in hope to reverse this trend.

As the largest network in Haiti, Digicel supports this initiative by the Haitian government which will significantly contribute to a better future for the country.
